In many ways, Baccarat is quite similar to two other card games, namely: Faro and Basset. Today, there are three commonly played variations of the game: baccarat chemin de fer or railway, baccarat banque or à deux tableaux, and punto banco. Punto banco is also commonly referred to as North American baccarat.

Unlike the other variations of the game Punto banco relies primarily on chance. There is absolutely with no skill or strategy involved. Instead, the player’s actions are directly related to the cards that he is dealt. In baccarat chemin de fer and baccarat banque on the other hand, players can make choices that directly affect the outcome of the game.

Baccarat is really a fairly simple casino game. There are only three possible outcomes of the game: “Player�, “Banker� and “Tie�. Interestingly enough, these terms do not refer to the customer or to the house.
